OK, so it's not yet a fail-safe machine, but at least Apple's taking steps in
the right direction. Seems to me they're serious about developing server products
for more demanding applications Let's hope the rumours about a G4 system
comparable to the Apple Network Server 500 / 700 machines are based in reality.

I believe they are. I spoke with Stan Ng at Apple (when he was visiting Sweden)
about future apple hardware, especially for Apple's Server line.

He eventually said "if we get enough requests from our customers and good
feedback, we will of course develop and ship a server product with
redundant power
supplies, hot-swappable disks......" and so on.

I was glad to hear this and I also think Apple has had a lot of requests
concerning these factors, and that we will all see a new Server G4
sometime early next year, maybe around WWDC.
